Please ensure that police officers on scene complete the relevant sections of the vehicle record books. These must be completed on all police recovery jobs and the recovery driver must then complete the rest of the book and hand into the office at base.

When the vehicles are removed from the depot by either the owners, insurance company or a salvage company the vehicle record books must be filled in and signed. A record must also be kept in the book of all examinations and property removal etc.

When completing a recovery please ensure that you write on the sheet above the picture of the car NO RECOVERY DAMAGE unless of course you have caused damage. If you do cause any damage please let Jeff or Syd know as soon as possible.
Also ensure that when you deliver a car you get somebody to sign for the receipt of the vehicle.

DRIVING LICENCE


Please ensure that you take your driving licence into one of the bases and have it photo copied for the company records, this has to be done on a six monthly basis. If you have the new photo card driving licence then both parts have to be copied. All photo copies to be then sent back to head office at Blandford.
VEHICLE FAULTS

If you have a fault on any company vehicle please inform Blandford control room as soon as possible. This will enable them to know which vehicles they can use and also have the vehicle repaired.
MERCEDES BENZ

We have been informed by Mercedes Benz that all their dealers require a form signed on all vehicles that are delivered to them under warranty. For best practice it would be good to ask them if they have a form for you to sign when they are signing your drivers sheet.
At the bottom of their sheet there are 12 boxes 6 either side, on the right 6 the 4th one down is marked 'Towing' this box will be ticked and you sign bottom left.
